I decided while the tank was out to put in a plate to facilitate an EFI fuel pump for the planned Ford 302. Figured a coat of paint would be a good idea as well. Caroline could help out and all was well!

Oh, and speaking of fuel tanks. I had problems figuring out which fuel sending unit the Smith gauge used. Couldn't really find a definitive answer on the web so I used a 500 ohm potentiometer, and found that the match was empty 240 ohms and full is  25 ohms. So it turns out that it is a Nisonger Sending unit!

That did the trick.
